Our camp at Salmon Bar on the Snake River. Now that we're on the Snake,
we have to worry about "tides". The water level fluctuates by something
like a foot as they vary the hydroelectric power generation at the
Hells Canyon Dam. Boats that were solidly beached when we went to bed
were floating free in the middle of the night.
