Welcome to San Miguel

Welcome to Old San Miguel Mission, the Catholic Church in Socorro, NM.

San Miguel is a vibrant parish in the heart of central New Mexico. Our mission is to strive to bring people closer to God. We, the faith filled members of the Parish and its Missions, part of the Archdiocese of Santa Fe, find strength, unity and grace in the celebration of the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass. As the voices and hands of Jesus in our time, our purpose is to express God's grace by offering Christion Love and Service to each other and to everyone we meet. We reach out to the world in prayer, action and deeds in unity with the Holy Roman Catholic Church.

Archdiocese of Santa Fe

Capital Campaign

A VISION FOR HEALING, RENEWAL, AND GROWTH

The Archdiocese of Santa Fe stands at a defining crossroads.

After years of profound challenge, we are called to embrace a future filled with hope, faith, and transformation. Through the Rebuild My Church initiative, we seek to foster healing, renewal, and lasting strength across our archdiocese, inviting every member of our community to join in building a vibrant Church guided by the Holy Spirit.

Rooted in feedback from the Synod on Synodality and pastoral planning sessions held in each deanery during Spring 2025, the active participation of the faithful in shaping the archdiocese's priorities has been—and remains—crucial. After months of prayerful reflection, preparations for an archdiocesan-wide campaign to address urgent needs today while reinforcing the Church’s mission for future generations are underway.

The following four priorities will shape our shared path forward:

  • Empower our parishes, where discipleship is lived most deeply, and the life of the Church takes root in community.

  • Form and sustain church leadership, preparing the next generation of church leaders while caring for those who are faithfully serving.

  • Strengthen Catholic education, supporting our teachers and ensuring more families can access the gift of a Catholic education.

  • Enhance diocesan ministries and services by providing the resources and leadership that enable all parishes, schools, and missions to flourish.
