Course Description:   Both the 20 Km and 40 Km will start on NM 1 near the I-25 San Marcial Exit south of Socorro. Both races are out and back heading south on NM 1. Both courses are modestly hilly. The 40 Km course is actually 39.7 Km in length.

Course Location:   From Albuquerque take I-25 south to the San Marcial Exit, #124 (23 miles south of Socorro.) proceed south approximately 1 mile to junction of NM1 and NM178.

A's and B's ride 40 Km, C-F ride 20 Km

Prizes:   Cash and Merchandise to be determined.

Race Rules:   All ACA rules apply. All riders must start with one foot on the ground. Road is open to vehicular traffic; all riders must stay to the far right side of road and passing is allowed only to the left of the slower rider. Start order will be random with C-F riders first, followed by A & B riders. Warm-up permitted on course until 10 minutes prior to first rider off. Race held rain or shine but may be canceled or rescheduled at the discretion of chief referee in the event of unsafe weather conditions. No personal support/follow vehicles. No feeding.

Entry Fees and Race Day Registration:  ACA member: $15.00, non-ACA member: $20.00 (includes $5.00 one day license fee). Mail completed ACA waiver with check, payable to "Socorro Striders and Riders," P.O. Box 1508, Socorro, NM 87801. Race Day registration and check-in is 9:00 to 9:45 at the start area. There will be a $5.00 late fee for registration post marked after May 4, 2002.
