This photo was taken during the bus tour of Denali National Park along the Denali Park Road to the north of the mountain. Only a few cars were allowed on the road, mainly those with camping reservations for the campgrounds. All the day-trippers ride the bus - generally these school buses. One advantage of the bus is that you have many eyes watching for animals and when one is seen, the bus stops for viewing. I'm not sure if the system has changed in the many years since we were there.
