Lower Salmon River in July 2023    Up   Previous    Next

The site of the Slide Rapid at mile 3.5. This is nothing below 10k cfs, but deadly above 20k cfs. The canyon walls make something of a funnel here and the rocks in the slide on the left make big holes. The water level when we were there on July 18 was 7700 cfs so well in the safe range.
