• Never logon to NEWS for "just a few minutes"
• Never say "I'm *just* gonna check my email"
• Never make "a mental note" to do anything!!!
• Never say "I'll get to it later"
• Never say "I'm just gonna play ONE more game of Tetris"
• Never lay down "for a few minutes" before an important appt, class, test, meeting, interview, etc.
• Never say "I'll go to the gas station tomorrow"
• Never put anything down on paper you don't want anyone else to know
• NEVER assume you'll remember where you put something!
• Never assume you didn't put your socks in the refrigerator.
• NEVER, EVER do anything in between turning off your car and EXITING it and/or putting the keys IN YOUR POCKET!!
• NEVER put your eyeglasses on the chair or bed "for a sec" >>CRUNCH!<<
• If you wear glasses, WEAR THEM! You'd be surprised to find out what isn't so automatic - "I could do this blind-folded!"
• ***NEVER STORE BEN GAY AND TOOTH PASTE IN THE SAME VICINITY - NOT ALL THAT SMELL'S MINTY TASTES AS SUCH!!!!***
• NEVER, ever, no matter how good an idea it seems at the time, NEVER store KY-Jelly and toothpaste in the same vicinity.
• Never put a warm pop in the freezer for a "few minutes" just to get it cold.
• Never put coffee/soda/ANYTHING on the car roof "for a sec." until you get the car loaded.
• Never start some bathtub water and run downstairs "for a sec" to do something real quick.
• Never pull away from the gas pump without first checking to make sure the nozzle is not in your car, but in it's holder. (I've never had a mishap with this one but, I ALWAYS check because I could just see myself doing it and the consequences scare the heck out of me!)
• Never drive
• Never put a letter aside, because it needs a really "good" response.
• Never leave anything in the oven "just to let it get a little more done."
• Never buy a car that does not have MAJOR devices to prevent you from leaving your lights on and locking yourself out. I used to leave my headlights on EVERY time I drove with them on during the day (during rain, etc.). Now I have a car that dings politely if I turn the ignition off while the lights are on, and I thank my car out loud each time it does so.

  Corollary to this rule:

  If your car lacks these devices, NEVER go anywhere without a set of jumper cables and always keep a spare key on the undercarriage. (And, if you use the key, put it back IMMEDIATLY!)

• The "Vacation" scenario: At a rest stop, never tie your dog to the bumper of your car.
• Never join a CD or book club that makes you send in a card each month to prevent getting the "featured" selection.
• NEVER take that interesting other hot-link in a web page that has nothing to do with what you originally were looking for. After 30, 40, 50 minutes or hours you finally say: "what was I doing anyway". That is if you remember that you were doing something else to begin with.
• A close relative to the above: NEVER ever look at the books that you pass by in the library as you are headed to find the one you looked up in the card catalog.
• NEVER tell someone who calls on the other line, "I'll call you back when I'm done with this call." Unless you tie the telephone around your neck, foot, arm, or various other appendages.
• NEVER store the bug spray and the hair spray in the same vicinity. The roaches wont come near you and neither will anyone else. Besides, its a bitch to wash out!
