Paul rapelling off Wolf's Head. While Lou was repelling, a party
above us knocked some rocks off that hit our rapel ropes near the
anchor while they were resting on a rock and were under tension. They
were cut about half way through. If one had been cut all the way, Lou
would have been in very big trouble. As it was, we had to cut the
ends off the ropes (10-20 feet, as I vaguely recall) and climb with
shorter ropes after that. We requested the other party stay put until
we were off.
