The Body Control powers represent the
psychic ability to induce changes within a character's own body and mind
through force of will. Most of these Powers involve very little
in the way of social or physical interaction with the world and so their
axiom requirements tend to be very close to the minimums required for psionics.
Because of their generally low axiom requirements, the Body Control powers
are usually among the first discovered when a cosm develops the ability
to utilize psionics.

Description: speeds up the character's healing process
This power allows the character through sheer force
of will to cause his body and/or mind to heal itself much faster than normal.
The Effect Value is compared to a DN based on the severity of the character's
injuries: shock, KO conditions: DN 5, Wounded: DN 8, Heavy Wound DN 12,
Mortal Wound DN 15. The result points are read through the Power Push
chart and the modifier is the rate at which the character's healing has
been accelerated. (Example: a +3 result means the character heals
three times faster than normal.) The player can choose to take a lower
result to minimize the side effects.
A side effect of the power is that the character's
metabolic needs (food, water, sleep) for the duration are accelerated by
a similar amount. The power also has a set duration, its effects will
last for an entire day even if the character is completely healed in less
time. But that does mean that any additional damage taken during that day
will also heal at the accelerated rate until the power expires.
This power will not accelerate the healing of spiritual
damage.
Suggested Enhancements and Limitations: the Share Power Enhancement
cannot be taken for this power - that is already covered by the
Psionic Defense version of this power. Improved Control could allow the
character to reduce the side effects of his increased metabolism, such
as not accelerating his need for sleep. Selective Efficiency could
be used to make the power more effective at healing either physical or mental
damage.
Requires Extra Concentration is a common Limitation
for this power, as Usable Only in a Trance. Selective Weakness could
be used to make the power less effective at healing one type of damage.

This power allows a character to probe his own mind
and analyze any serious mental trauma he has suffered. The Effect
Value is compared to a DN based on the severity of the character's mental
damage: Wound DN 8, Heavy Wound DN 12, Mortal Wound DN 15. The
result points are read through the Power Push chart and the modifier becomes
a bonus to the character's next healing check for recovering from his mental
injuries.
Additionally, the result points can be read through
the General Success chart and each success level above Average allows the
player to ask the gamemaster one question related to the damage, such as
"what power caused this damage?" or "how long ago was it inflicted?"
This power has the Set Duration Limitation built in,
the full minute must be spent using it in order to receive any benefit.
Suggested Enhancements and Limitations: a Permanent Adjustment
can be made to reduce the required Duration, or the Set Duration Limitation
could be bought off by increasing the Activation Difficulty by +4. The
Reduced Control Limitation could be used to eliminate the ability to ask
questions about the damage, leaving only the healing benefits. Usable only
Unconscious/In a Trance is a common Limitation.

Description: first aid for mental damage
This power functions like a first aid skill
in treating the effects of mental damage. The Effect Value is compared
to a DN based on the severity of the character's mental damage: shock,
KO conditions, Wounded: DN 8, Heavy Wound DN 12, Mortal Wound DN 15.
If successful, all shock and KO conditions from mental damage only
are cleared. Additionally, if the character is mortally wounded a successful
check will stop the accumulation of mortal shock damage from mental wounds
only.
Suggested Enhancements and Limitations: the Share Power Enhancement
cannot be taken for this power - that is already covered by the
Psionic Defense version of this power. Requires Extra Concentration Time
or a combination of an increased Duration and the Set Duration Limitation
are common for this power. Usable Only in a Trance could also be added to
either of those Limitations.

Description: improves natural sensory abilities or shifts
them into different regions
This version of the power allows the character to expand
the capabilities of his normal five senses, increasing their sensitivity
and even shifting their sensitivity range into areas beyond the normal physical
limits. The eyes can be temporarily modified to see in the infrared or ultraviolet
spectrums, hearing can be adjusted to pick up frequencies outside normal
human ability, and so on. Range is used to determine how far the character's
modified senses can reach (i.e., a skill of 15 means infravision would see
heat sources up to 15 meters away.)
To enhance senses within their normal ranges, the Effect
Value of the power substitutes for the character's normal Perception
attribute or skill that would normally be used (such as find to spot
something.) To shift a sense so that it works outside the normal human
ranges, the Effect Value is compared to the character's Perception
attribute and the result points are read through the Power Push chart to
find the modifier to the character's Perception or appropriate skills.
(Example: a character with Perception 12 wants infravision to help
him spot the tracks of someone he's following. He uses the power with
an Effect Value of 18. The six result points give him a +3 bonus to
his tracking skill since he can now see the heat patterns left by
the footsteps of the person he's following.)
Suggested Enhancements and Limitations: Selective Efficiency could
be used to make it more effective at improving one particular sense over
the others. Selective Weakness could be used for the opposite effect. Set
Duration is a common problem, the character is unable to turn off the modification
until the power expires normally. A Side Effect could indicate that the modifications
create noticable physical alterations, such as a character's eyes becoming
a solid single color when he modifies them.
